📏 How to measure a dog!
Share
📏 Why is it better to measure your dog before buying a collar or harness? 🤔
The right size means not only comfort, but also safety and control during walks or workouts.
An improperly sized neck strap can slip or pinch, while an ill-fitting chest strap can interfere with movement or chafe.
Why is measurement important?
💪Safety: A collar that is too loose can slip off while walking.
🥰Comfort: A strap that is too tight can be tight and cause discomfort.
🐕🦺Functionality: A properly fitting chest strap makes it easier to control and does not restrict the dog's freedom of movement.
💯Exact order: avoid strap exchange or return.

📐 What is needed?
Soft measuring tape (the same one used in sewing clothes)
A quiet moment for the dog (best after a walk or meal)
Notes or a smartphone to save the measurements

📍 How to measure neck circumference?
1. Find the right place
Measure the area of your dog's neck where the leash usually goes - just below the ears, where the neck is thickest.
2. Don't tighten too tightly
The measuring tape should fit snugly, but not tightly – leave 1-2 fingers between the tape and your neck to ensure free breathing.
✅ Result: record the dimensions in centimeters

🎽 How to measure a dog for a chest strap?
Our models require two main dimensions:
1. Chest circumference (girth)
Measure just behind the front legs, around the entire chest.
The measuring tape should fit snugly, but leave 1-2 fingers of space.
2. Neck circumference
Unlike the neck strap, here you measure below where the chest strap touches the neck.

✨ Additional tips:
If your dog is between sizes, I recommend choosing a slightly larger size – the strap can always be adjusted.
If you order a personalized lanyard, make sure you specify your exact neck size, not a generic size (S, M, L).
